Today we’re going to share a selection of the best cycle paths between Lake Garda and Trentino, starting with the bike tour around Lake Ledro!

The 4 best cycle paths between Lake Garda and Trentino

The tour of Lake Ledro by bicycle

Our selection of the most beautiful cycle paths between Lake Garda and Trentino begins here, in the Ledro Valley, with a bike ride suitable for the whole family. The undisputed protagonist of this two-wheeled excursion is our lake, among the most beautiful in our region - we are talking about the bike tour around Lake Ledro, measuring a total of 11 kilometers.

It is an easy route, with a total altitude difference of around 300 meters. The tour follows a circular route, so you can start from different places; people usually start riding in Pieve, continue up to Mezzolago and then towards Molina, passing the Palafitte Museum, and then cycle all the way to Pur, finally returning to Pieve following the lake shore.

The Torbole-Riva-Arco cycle path

This cycle path allows you to discover three of the most beautiful villages on the northern shore of Lake Garda. Let’s start in Torbole, with its lakeside promenade, the small Dogana house, and continue towards Riva del Garda, passing Monte Brione, to reach the historic center of the “pearl of Lake Garda”. From there, it is then possible to ride back towards Arco, easy to see from afar due to its unmistakable castle.

The great thing is that from Arco you could also keep cycling, heading towards the Valle dei Laghi, and then further up along the Sarca, to reach Sarche, and even Terlago. It all depends on how much you want to ride, and how much time you have on your hands!

The new cycle path in Limone sul Garda

Inaugurated in 2018, the cycle path in Limone sul Garda is one of those routes that all bike lovers keep heading to over and over again. There are many reasons for that - first of all, because this cycle path was built right over Lake Garda for 2.5 kilometers, allowing you to ride practically on the water of the largest lake in Italy; secondly, because when this path will be complete, it will cover 19 beautiful locations around Lake Garda.

Precisely because of its unique position suspended over the lake, with a long overhanging stretch, the cycle path in Limone sul Garda has been called by many “the most beautiful cycle path in the world”. After sunset, the entire overhanging part is illuminated by LED path lights, making the route safe - and spectacular - while limiting light pollution to a minimum.

The Ledro valley cycle path

For the last suggestion in our selection of the best cycle routes between Lake Garda and Trentino we return to the Ledro Valley. Along the bottom of the valley, there is a cycle path that connects Lake Garda with Val d'Ampola.

From Riva del Garda, the route joins the legendary Ponale, to reach the towns of Pré and Molina. That’s where the easiest and most comfortable part of the route begins, running along the southern shore of Lake Ledro up to Pieve, with the opportunity of then continuing up to Bezzecca and Tiarno di Sopra, in the direction of Lake Ampola.
